Converse kicks off its hundredth anniversary with 1HUND (RED), a special artist series with proceeds going to the Global Fund. The project is a year-long release of shoes designed by notable artists, including Auckland-based illustrator, Dennis Juan Ma, whose shoe is number twenty in the series. Converse is doing it big with big names in the rock music industry. The shoe company is going “back in black” with AC/DC and even blacker with Metallica.
Here are some pieces of the upcoming limited edition CONVERSE Conversation Artist Series, which will be released in June. The collaboration includes the following artists: Yukinori Dehara, Cupco and Bwana Spoon. Each pair included in the collection comes with a mini-magazine called “Conversations”, a magazine that CONVERSE put out back in the 1940s.
